Over the 4th holiday, I flew to Michigan with Tanner and his family for a fun and lake-filled week. Excellent weather, great company, fantastic food and learning secret family recipes proved to be a great way to spend the 4th. Not to mention the 280* view of incredible fireworks all along the lakefront. I like being around people with money.
World War: Paddleboat. "PADDLE, PAAAAADDLE!" We made it nowhere. |

I'm on a boat...and yes, I had my flippy-floppies. |
The week when we came back, Tanner and I planned to do a juice cleanse. My work buddy Molly and her fiance had recently done a 3-day basic cleanse and felt just amazing! So...we decided to hop on the train. To be fair, there were both pros AND cons.
1) It was pretty tasty but
2) It was hard not to EAT for 3 days, granted
3) I did feel very clean on the inside after all was said and done.
I dropped a few lbs and I felt healthier at the close, but I will tell you if you're thinking about doing this that you are going to pee a lot. Like, a lot a lot. Like, I thought I had cornered the market on pee breaks for non-pregnant women but I knew nothing. NOTHING! Bottom line: I do not intend to ever do a cleanse again however I do intend on adding juices into my life.
This one was my favorite and tasted like horchata! YUM!!! |
A week later, the weekend was FINALLY HERE for the summer float of 2013. With Molly and Kevin in tow, Tanner and I met up with my buddy, Skaife, and his 22 deep crew...yes, 22 people. And an epic float was had with new besties made. What a trip!

Work represent! Amy**, eat your heart out. Our ham sammies and watermelon were spectacular. Not to mention the liquid portion of the trip. Water... |
There went my summer. August has already started as a blur but I look forward to every day's new adventure!
